Food on Foot is a chance to feel like you're an actual part of
the community. It's a reminder that we can make real
change in someone's life and in our own lives as well.
What I like most about FOF is the positive energy of the volunteers and the sincere
gratitude from the people we feed. Also the crew members are so inspiring. They really remind me that
sometimes all you need is a second chance and someone
to have a little faith in you.
An experience I remember was this past Christmas. It was raining like crazy. There
were so many people standing in the rain waiting for a
sleeping bag and Christmas dinner. The volunteers had
the opportunity to stand in line with them, and most
of us did. It was a great chance to connect with the
people we feed.
